From Traditional Forging To The Rise Of“China's Flange Town”
In the 1960s, after the founding of New China, Dingxiang started the large-scale production of flanges relying on state-owned machinery factories. 1958 saw the establishment of Dingxiang Forging Factory, which for the first time used steam hammer equipment to produce simple flange blanks, mainly supplying domestic petrochemical enterprises. During this period, Dingxiang flanges were mainly made of carbon steel, and the process was still semi-handmade.
In the 1990s, Dingxiang flanges began to be exported and gradually moved to the international market. 21st century upgraded to the global market, Dingxiang was awarded the title of“Hometown of China Forging” by China Machinery Industry Federation. With the technological progress, the enterprise gradually adopts CNC ring milling machine, 10,000-ton hydraulic press, and the products are upgraded from low-end carbon steel flanges to special alloy flanges for nuclear power and aerospace present, Dingxiang is promoting the industry to“intelligent manufacturing + cross-border e-commerce” transformation, 2025, the local planning to build a national flange testing center, to further consolidate the position of the global industry chain!
From the red furnace anvil to the intelligent factory, Dingxiang flange's century-long development history is the epitome of China's manufacturing industry from weak to strong. Nowadays, this“capital of flange” is still writing a new industrial legend.
