
Kyiv Invests UAH 260M In New Drone Interception System To Protect Capital
"At the instruction of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, we are launching a full-scale system to intercept enemy drones targeting Kyiv. The capital is allocating more funds to implement the large-scale 'Clear Sky' project, which provides for protecting the airspace with domestically produced interceptor drones," Tkachenko said.
He clarified that the UAH 260 million would not merely be used to purchase equipment but to create an efficient response system.
As part of the initiative, a training center for drone operators is being established. This specialized facility will prepare experts to operate the interceptor UAVs.

"We are working in close coordination with the General Staff, the Air Force, and the Defense Forces to achieve maximum synergy with the existing air defense system," Tkachenko said.
He also noted that during the pilot phase of the "Clear Sky" project, nearly 550 enemy drones were intercepted in the Kyiv region.
Tkachenko added that efforts are underway to attract non-budgetary (private or donor) funding as well.
"This is an investment in the safety of every resident of Kyiv. While the enemy continues its attacks, we are strengthening our defenses. The sky over Kyiv will be clear," he said.
