Muharram significanceMuharram holds profound religious significance for both Sunni and Shia Muslims. While Sunnis observe the day by fasting, offering special prayers, and reciting the Quran, Shia Muslims mourn the martyrdom of Imam Hussain through solemn processions and the symbolic creation and burial of Taziyas - representations of his tomb.
