Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry reveals new wave of migrant’s deportation
(MENAFN) The Ecuadorian Foreign Ministry reported on Tuesday that the United States has deported 3,977 Ecuadorian migrants without legal status during the first six months of 2025.
This total includes 38 individuals who arrived on Monday in Guayaquil, a coastal city in southwestern Ecuador, aboard a U.S. military flight. The U.S. Embassy confirmed these deportations through social media, noting that they are carrying out immigration laws by returning those who entered the country illegally.
As per the ministry’s data, 3,939 Ecuadorians had been deported through 46 flights by June 30, not counting the most recent group. Between 2019 and 2025, the United States expelled 51,107 Ecuadorians over 451 flights, with military flights being used since January 28, 2025.
In reaction to this, Ecuador’s government is providing returnees with a monthly payment of $470, which matches the country's minimum wage, for a period of up to three months.
Additional assistance includes access to job training, educational programs, and scholarships designed to help these individuals reintegrate into society.
