Iraqi, UAE Presidents Hold Talks on Regional Issues
(MENAFN) Iraqi President Abdul Latif Rashid engaged in a critical phone call on Friday with UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, focusing on pressing regional issues and boosting bilateral ties.
According to a statement from the Iraqi presidency, both leaders emphasized the urgent need for de-escalation and prioritized peaceful, diplomatic solutions to ongoing regional conflicts.
They stressed that sustained dialogue is the key to strengthening stability both regionally and globally, pledging continued coordination and collaborative efforts to achieve lasting peace.
The conversation also highlighted the severe humanitarian crisis in Gaza. The statement noted that the leaders demanded increased regional and international action to stop Israeli
"aggression," facilitate immediate and unrestricted humanitarian aid, lift the blockade, and relieve the dire suffering of Gaza’s civilians.
