Romania's New Leadership Earns Parliamentary Approval

(MENAFN) Romania’s freshly formed coalition administration secured a vote of confidence in parliament on Monday, as reported by a broadcaster.

The newly appointed administration, under the leadership of Ilie Bolojan, obtained 301 supportive votes, with only nine lawmakers opposing, thus concluding 47 days of temporary governance.

The newly selected ministers of the Cabinet also formally took their oaths of office following the vote.

Last Friday, Romanian President Nicusor Dan assigned the premiership to Ilie Bolojan, a senior figure in the liberal political sphere.

At 56 years old, Bolojan, who heads the centrist and liberal-leaning National Liberal Party (PNL), formerly served as the president of the Romanian Senate and briefly as acting head of state from February through May.
