Chinese Foreign Minister, Omani Counterpart Hold Talks on Israel-Iran conflict
(MENAFN) During a Wednesday phone call with Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr bin Hamad bin Hamood Albusaidi, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi condemned Israel’s recent assault on Iran, declaring it a breach of international law and norms, a violation of Iran’s sovereignty and security, and a threat to peace and stability in the region.
Wang, who also serves on the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, emphasized China’s long-standing stance advocating for the peaceful resolution of disputes. China has consistently supported resolving all disputes through peaceful means, he stated.
Highlighting the urgency of halting the violence, Wang called for an immediate ceasefire to bring the conflict to an end. He expressed China’s backing for the joint declaration addressing the Israel-Iran tensions, released by 21 Arab and Islamic nations including Oman, urging these countries to unite in advancing peace negotiations.
Furthermore, Wang affirmed China’s commitment to ongoing dialogue and coordination with Oman and other regional partners. He pledged that China will continue to contribute constructively through international platforms such as the United Nations to help resolve the conflict and reestablish peace across the Middle East.
