Inter Milan Appoints Cristian Chivu as Head Coach

(MENAFN) Cristian Chivu has been named the new head coach of Italian Serie A club Inter Milan, the team confirmed on its official website on Monday.

The Romanian coach has agreed to a contract with Inter that extends until June 30, 2027.

On June 3, Inter announced they had mutually parted ways with Italian coach Simone Inzaghi.

During his tenure, Inzaghi guided the club to one Serie A title, two Italian Cups, and three Italian Super Cups, while also leading the team to the UEFA Champions League final twice—in 2023 and this past May.

In the final on May 31, Paris Saint-Germain dominated the match, securing a decisive 5-0 victory over Inter to claim the title.

Chivu, a former player for Inter, most recently served as head coach at Parma from February to June.
