Iran's Oil Show Commences in Tehran, Highlights Production Gains
(MENAFN) Tehran hosted the opening of the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition, the Iran Oil Show 2025, on Thursday. The four-day event in the Iranian capital features over 2,000 companies from both Iran and abroad displaying their newest offerings. Included in the exhibition are 150 international companies from 14 different nations.
Covering a wide range of the oil and gas industry, the exhibition includes 37 specialized areas encompassing upstream and downstream activities, along with investment, finance, commerce, and innovative technologies. According to a news agency, the event seeks to stimulate investment in Iran's oil and gas sectors, facilitate the exchange and advancement of modern technologies, and encourage cooperation between Iranian companies and international investors. The program includes expert panels, educational workshops, and conferences throughout the exhibition.
At the opening ceremony, Oil Minister Mohsen Paknejad asserted that Iran's oil exports are maintaining peak levels despite increased sanctions. He pointed out that since President Masoud Pezeshkian's administration assumed office in July 2024, Iran's daily oil production has increased by 150,000 barrels, gas output by 30 million cubic meters, and refining capacity by 180,000 barrels.
Paknejad further stated that the nation's yearly petrochemical production capacity has grown by 7 million tons, while gasoline and diesel outputs have risen by 7 million and 8 million liters per day, respectively. He also announced that the ministry intends to finalize more than 30 significant oil industry projects by the conclusion of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2026), with nearly 10 billion U.S. dollars in planned investments.
