Trump Calls for "Total Dismantlement" of Iran's Nuclear Deal
(MENAFN) President Trump has declared he will only accept the complete dismantling of Iran's nuclear program, as scheduled negotiations between the U.S. and Iran have been delayed.
In an interview, Trump clarified his stance, stating, "Total dismantlement. Yes, that is all I would accept." He questioned Iran's need for nuclear technology for power generation, given its vast oil reserves. “They have so much oil – why do they need it? … Civilian [nuclear] energy often leads to military wars. And we don’t want them to have a nuclear weapon. It’s a very simple deal,” he asserted.
"I just don’t want them to have a nuclear weapon because the world will be destroyed," Trump emphasized.
His comments follow the announcement by Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al-Busaidi that the planned fourth round of indirect US-Iran talks, originally set for Saturday, has been postponed indefinitely "for logistical reasons."
These negotiations, previously described as productive, have been complicated by escalating tensions in Yemen, where the US and UK have intensified airstrikes against Houthi fighters.
