OSAKA, Japan, April 14 (KUNA) -- Kuwait's Ambassador to Japan, Sami Al-Zamanan stated on Monday that Kuwait's participation in Expo Osaka 2025 aimed to offer an inspiring experience that reflects the country's future vision and opens new horizons for international cooperation.
In a statement to KUNA, Al-Zamanan described Expo Osaka 2025 as a leading platform for exchanging expertise and showcasing national visions that contribute to building a more sustainable and cooperative future for humanity.
He emphasized that Kuwait's presence at the expo demonstrates its commitment to active engagement in global events that shape the future of humanity while promoting sustainable development and innovation.
The ambassador explained that Kuwait's pavilion serves as a living representation of the nation's identity, development goals, and achievements in the fields of innovation, clean energy, and human empowerment.
Al-Zamanan also noted that this participation aligns with the strong and longstanding bilateral relations between Kuwait and Japan, which span decades of cooperation and mutual respect, adding that the Expo provides an opportunity to strengthen these relations and expand areas of partnership.
This year's Kuwaiti pavilion features a rich cultural display that blends authentic Kuwaiti heritage with modern elements, reflecting a nation that harmonizes tradition and progress while emphasizing the role of culture in building bridges of dialogue and understanding between nations.
The pavilion consists of two floors: one tells the story of Kuwait's heritage and traditions, while the other embodies the country's aspirations for the future, it takes the visitors with a journey through Kuwait's past, present, and future across four exhibition halls that merge traditional themes with advanced technologies.
The intersection between the two floors has been named "The Pearl," in tribute to the historical role of pearl diving in Kuwait's economy and maritime legacy.
Every section of the pavilion tells a unique story using interactive features and artificial intelligence technologies.
Kuwait is one of only four Arab nations that participated in Expo 1970 in Osaka, the first such event hosted in Japan, which drew over 64 million visitors.
Expo 2025 Osaka officially opened to the public on Sunday, launching a six-month event with record participation from 158 countries and regions, including Kuwait, and the Expo expects around 28.2 million visitors to attend.
Themed "Designing Future Society for Our Lives," the expo showcases the cultural and technological achievements of participating nations, it will run until October 13 on Yumeshima Island in Osaka Bay.
The event features the world's largest wooden architectural structure-the Grand Ring-measuring roughly two kilometers in circumference and symbolizing "unity in diversity." (end) am
