JPRC Allocates 5% Of Annual Profits To Support Health, Education Sectors
(MENAFN- Jordan News Agency)
Amman, March 26 (Petra) – The Board of Directors of the Jordan Petroleum Refinery Company (JPRC) has approved a corporate social responsibility initiative to support the health and education sectors over the next three years, allocating 5% of the company's annual profits to this effort.
Chairperson of the Board Abdul Rahim Baqai stated that the decision underscores the JPRC's commitment to its national role, emphasizing that investment in health and education is a strategic priority for fostering a more advanced and stable society.
Baqai highlighted that this initiative aligns with the company's broader efforts to promote sustainable development and enhance community partnerships. He reiterated the JPRC's dedication to implementing impactful initiatives that contribute to improving health and education services across the Kingdom.
This announcement follows a series of corporate social responsibility commitments by major Jordanian companies. The Association of Banks in Jordan recently pledged JD90 million to support the health and education sectors, while the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company allocated JD40 million earlier this week.
Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, speaking at the launch of the Jordan Phosphate Mines Company's initiative, underscored that corporate social responsibility should go beyond donations and charitable contributions to encompass sustainable development policies that address national priorities and long-term challenges. He commended the private sector's role in advancing development efforts and encouraged further institutional participation in national initiatives.
