Spain Boosts Investments In Azerbaijan's Economy Multiple Times

(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 25. The volume of foreign direct investments of Spain in the Azerbaijani economy amounted to over $7 million last year.

The data obtained by Trend from the Central Bank of Azerbaijan shows that this figure grew by $5.9 million, or 6.1 percent, compared to the indicator of 2023.

The share of investments from Spain in the total volume of foreign direct investment in Azerbaijan for the reporting year made up 0.1 percent.

Meanwhile, Azerbaijan invested $53.7 million in the Spanish economy last year, which is $29.65 million or 2.2 times more than in 2023.

The share of Azerbaijani investments in Spain in the total volume of foreign direct investments was three percent.

In 2023, the volume of foreign direct investments from Spain to Azerbaijan was $1.17 million, and the volume of investments from Azerbaijan to the country in question was $24.05 million.

Foreign direct investments in the economy of Azerbaijan in 2024 amounted to $7.04 billion, which is $388.1 million or 5.83 percent more than in 2023. At the same time, the volume of Azerbaijan's foreign direct investment in the reporting year totaled $1.7 billion, which is $1.3 billion or 43.3 percent less than in 2023.
