Ukrainian Artillery Strike Murders 6 People Including Journalists
(MENAFN) Russian authorities reported that six people, including three journalists, were murdered in a Ukrainian artillery attack in the eastern Luhansk area on Monday.
Among the victims were Alexander Fedorchak, a correspondent for a daily newspaper, along with two staff members from a TV channel—cameraman Andrey Panov and driver Alexander Sirkeli, according to the Russian Investigative Committee.
The committee also stated that it had initiated a criminal investigation into the case. In addition to the fatalities, a 14-year-old teenager and Mikhail Skuratov, a correspondent for a Russian state news agency, were wounded in the strike, suffering shrapnel injuries.
Russian Foreign Ministry representative Maria Zakharova firmly condemned Ukraine’s act.
She announced plans to pursue a response from the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) as well as UNESCO, the United Nations agency that promotes global cooperation in education, science, and culture to foster peace, human rights, and sustainable development.
