Among the many distinguished maestros who are set to grace InClassica’s stage, audiences will have the opportunity to witness the highly esteemed French conductor Lionel Bringuier in live performance. Currently serving as the Principal Conductor of the Orchestre Philharmonique de Nice, Bringuier has already enjoyed a stellar career with some of the world’s most prestigious ensembles, including the Tonhalle-Orchester Zürich, Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León, Orchestre de Bretagne, and Ensemble Orchestral de Paris, and will soon by taking on the additional role of Music Director with the Orchestre Philharmonique Royal de Liège for the 2025/26 season.

For his highly anticipated InClassica debut, Bringuier will be conducting a concert titled “Maxim Vengerov – Violin Virtuoso” on April 10th, leading the Franz Schubert Filharmonia in a stunning performance alongside the world-renowned violinist Maxim Vengerov, who is widely considered as one of the finest string players active today. The programme for the evening includes Beethoven's Coriolan Overture, Op. 62, Mozart's Symphony No. 40 in G minor, and Alexey Shor’s famed Violin Concerto No. 6 “Carpe Diem”.
The conductor shared his excitement ahead of the event, stating that, “I’m looking forward to participating in the festival, as this will be my first time conducting in Dubai. It's really nice to have international musicians and audiences coming to the UAE to enjoy wonderful music. I'm particularly excited about sharing the stage with the legendary violinist Maxim Vengerov, performing the violin concerto by Alexey Shor, a composer I wholeheartedly admire, and, of course, conducting the Franz Schubert Filharmonia.”
One of InClassica’s core missions is to create a platform where established maestros and emerging musicians come together to celebrate the joy and beauty of classical music, and Bringuier sees this as one of its most compelling aspects, as he noted that, “bringing together established and rising talent is an excellent specificity of this festival. For younger performers, it’s an incredible opportunity to share the stage with superstars like Maxim Vengerov and Mikhail Pletnev. This pairing also benefits the audience, allowing them to enjoy an extraordinary combination of soloists, conductors, and orchestras while also supporting the next generation of musicians.”
Discussing the repertoire for his concert on April 10th, Bringuier described the programme as “terrific”, explaining that each piece has been carefully selected to take audiences on an emotional journey through different styles and eras.
“We start with Beethoven's Coriolan Overture”, he said, “one of my favourite pieces to conduct, as it starts with strong opening chords which immediately captivate and take the audience from their seats. Next, there's the Violin Concerto No. 6 ‘Carpe Diem' by Alexey Shor, a contemporary piece that is extremely well orchestrated. I really admire Shor’s composing style, which features beautiful melodies and music that is enjoyable and easy to listen to.”
The conductor has had the opportunity to conduct Shor’s music in the past and is eager to revisit it at InClassica 2025, saying: “Recently, I performed two piano concertos by Alexey Shor in Tokyo, one with Mikhail Pletnev and the other with Behzod Abduraimov. I fell in love with his music, appreciating his fantastic composing style and ability to provide a great balance between the soloists and the orchestra. I'm excited to perform one of his works again at InClassica with my dear friend Maxim Vengerov.”
The evening will then close with Mozart’s Symphony No. 40, one of the composer’s most iconic symphonies, with Bringuier expressing his anticipation for the performance, as he declared that “Mozart's Symphony No. 40 is a perfectly dramatic piece to conclude the concert. This is a fantastic programme, and I'm really, really looking forward to sharing it with classical music enthusiasts.”
As InClassica continues to expand the reach of classical music in Dubai and the wider GCC region, Bringuier’s participation reinforces the festival’s commitment to showcasing extraordinary talent and diverse programming. With a programme blending classical masterpieces and contemporary works, while featuring some of the world’s greatest musicians, InClassica 2025, and Bringuier’s concert on April 10th, promises to be a truly unmissable event for all classical music lovers worldwide.
