1917 -- Britain launches a telegraph line between Basra and Kuwait during era of Sheikh Salem Al-Mubarak Al-Sabah, Kuwait's ninth ruler.
1981 -- The Crown Prince and Prime Minister Sheikh Saad Al-Abdullah Al-Salem Al-Sabah orders regulating the constituent law of Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development (KFAED).
2004 -- The eminent businessman Yusuf Abdulaziz Al-Fulaij dies at the age of 95. He was a founding member of the National Bank of Kuwait and the Chamber of Industry and Commerce.
2017 -- The Ministry of Education inaugurates the Academy of Giftedness.
2021 -- The cabinet relieves arrivals who have taken the jab against the coronavirus from quarantine.
