Pir Panjaal Forest Div Budgam Commemorates International Forest Day At Yusmarg


(MENAFN- Kashmir Observer) Yusmarg- On the eve of International Day of Forests the Pir Panjal Forest Division Budgam organised a function at Yusmarg which was attended by Forest Officials, Environmental Activists , sudents and local residents. The programme was graced by noted Environmental Lawyer Saurabh Sharma who practices in Supreme Court and National Green Tribunal New Delhi.
Social Activist and Chairman Jammu and Kashmir RTI Movement Dr Raja Muzaffar Bhat also participated in the plantation drive .

He appreciated the DFO Pir Panjal Forest Division Budgam Mr Waseem Gul for his work and also spoke about this years theme which is Forests for Food.

He said that Kashmir's noted islamic scholar philosopher and islamic saint of 15th century Sheikh Nooruidin Wali RA has explained this in detailed more than 600 years back by saying“Ann Poshee Teli Yeli Wann Poshee“
Advocate Saurabh Sharma appreciated the work done by Activists and Forest Department in Budgam and urged upon the students to understand the importance of Forests and Climate.
Range Officer Doodh Ganga Forest Range Zahoor Ahmad Khan , Forest Officers Mohammad Aslam, Choudhary Jahangeer also addressed the gathering. Students from Cardiff School Chararsharief participated in the event and also spoke about importance of International Forest Day.
Senior RTI Activist Dr Mushtaq Khan Gen Secretary RTI Movement, Coordinator RTI Movement Budgam Mushtaq Ahmad Lone along with senior activists Gulzar Ahmad, Mudassar Yatoo, Aamir Khan and Suhail Ahmed also participated in the event.
