Turkey Is Set to Lead NATO Amphibious Task Forces for First Time
(MENAFN) On July 1, Turkey will take command of the NATO Allied Reaction Force Amphibious Task Force Command as well as the Landing Force Command for the first time, according to the country's Ministry of National Defense. The ministry announced this decision on Monday.
In line with Turkey's obligations within NATO, the nation will assume control of these NATO commands from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026, as detailed in an announcement from the ministry.
"The Amphibious Task Force and Landing Force Command headquarters, along with our Marine Infantry Battalion Landing Force, will participate in the Dynamic Mariner/Flotex-25 Exercise, which will take place between March 24 and April 4, 2025, with the ships TCG Sancaktar, TCG Bayraktar, TCG Orucreıs, and TCG Gaziantep, as well as the Route/Spain," the statement also mentioned.
