25 Hospitals In Gaza Out Of Service: Health Officials
Gaza: Director-General of the Ministry of health in the Gaza Strip Dr. Munir Al Barsh described the health situation in the Gaza Strip as catastrophic, with 25 out of 38 hospitals out of service due to fuel and supply shortages, compounded by the resumption of Israeli aggression early on Tuesday morning.
Speaking to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Al Barsh emphasized the urgent and immediate need for field hospitals, beds, and operating rooms to manage the overwhelming number of casualties. He pointed out a severe lack of even the most basic medical supplies across hospitals.
Director of Al Shifa Hospital in Gaza Dr. Mohammad Abu Salmiya highlighted that the bare minimum essentials of the health system are missing in these critical conditions. He remarked that every passing minute sees more injuries succumbing due to resource shortages.
In his statement to QNA, Dr. Abu Salmiya revealed that there are only four intensive care unit beds available in Gaza City and northern Gaza. He noted that no robust health system could handle such a large influx of injuries simultaneously.
He stressed that they are working with extremely primitive means to save as many wounded as possible, expecting an increase in the death toll by the end of the day as the scale of the massacres unfolds.
Citing medical sources, QNA's correspondent reported that medical crews face immense difficulty reaching the injured due to most of their operations being disrupted. The shortages in medicine, medical tools, ambulances, and fuel, aggravated by closed crossings, further complicate the situation.
Israeli forces resumed aggression against the Gaza Strip early today, resulting in the deaths of over 400 individuals and hundreds more injured.
