(MENAFN) In the first two months of 2025, 11 people were killed and 66 others wounded in 26 traffic mishaps on Myanmar's Yangon-Mandalay highway, as reported by the highway traffic Police on Tuesday.

Comparatively, during the same period in 2024, 30 accidents happened on the exact highway, resulting in 23 fatalities. The primary causes of these accidents include careless driving, automobile defects, as well as poor road and weather conditions.

To curb the number of accidents, the police are running awareness campaigns and taking strict measures against speeding cars.
