Israel Consults with U.S. regarding Airstrikes in Gaza
(MENAFN) The White House confirmed on Monday that Israel consulted with the United States regarding its most recent airstrikes in the Gaza Strip.
"The trump administration and the White House were consulted by the Israelis on their attacks in Gaza tonight," representative Karoline Leavitt informed a news agency.
Her comments happened after the Israeli military announced it had carried out airstrikes in Gaza, marking the most significant attack since the ceasefire with the Palestinian party Hamas got applied on January 19.
"As President (Donald) Trump has made it clear: Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, all those who seek to terrorize not just Israel, but also the United States of America, will see a price to pay. All hell will break loose," she stated.
Based on local media, citing the Palestinian civil emergency service, at least 80 people have been reported dead.
Israeli Premier Benjamin Netanyahu along with Defense Minister Israel Katz have ordered the military to take "strong action" against Hamas in Gaza, based on the Premier’s Office.
"This follows Hamas's repeated refusal to release our hostages, as well as its rejection of all of the proposals it has received from US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff and from the mediators," the statement added.
