SpaceX craft links with ISS to rescue trapped astronauts
(MENAFN) On Sunday morning, SpaceX’s Dragon spaceship, with four team members aboard, successfully anchored with the International Space Station (ISS), marking a significant move toward rescuing NASA astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stranded in space for nine months.
The Dragon spaceship was initiated aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida at 7:03 p.m. Eastern Time (2303 GMT) on Friday.
On Sunday, following a 29-hour journey, the spacecraft successfully anchored with the ISS at approximately 12:04 a.m. Eastern Time (0404 GMT).
The Crew-10 mission, which transports NASA astronauts Anne McClain and Nichole Ayers, Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency astronaut Takuya Onishi, as well as Roscosmos cosmonaut Kirill Peskov, is now underway to the ISS.
