U.S. airstrikes in Yemen cause up to 31 fatalities

(MENAFN) A news agency reported on Sunday that following U.S. air attacks targeting Houthi areas at night in northern Yemen, the death toll has climbed to 31, with more than 101 individuals reported injured.

Authorities anticipate that the death toll will continue to rise as U.S. air attacks persist in Yemen.

Casualties have been reported in several sites, such as the capital Sanaa, the northern Saada province, a major Houthi base, and other areas under the control of Houthi groups across Yemen.

The military operation, which began on late Saturday, first targeted the Al-Jarraf residential area in northern Sanaa, followed by multiple bombings of the Shoab residential neighborhood in eastern Sanaa, according to Houthi-controlled media.

Hours later, new attacks targeted areas in Saada, the central city in the northern province, which serves as a key base for the group.
