Dubai: Free Buses To Take Fans To Champions Trophy Final Traffic Delays Expected On These Streets

Commuters should brace for traffic delays on sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed (SMBZ) Road, also known as E311, and Hessa Street on March 9, the Roads and transport Authority (RTA) said.

The delays are due to the ICC Champions Trophy final happening at Dubai Sports City on Sunday. Traffic congestion is expected between 11am 2pm, and again from 8pm to 11pm.

But to avoid delays, the RTA is advising commuters to plan their trips in advance and leave early for smoother travel. According to the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM), the UAE's weather department, the forecast is for rainfall. The met department said in its weekly bulletin that there will be partly cloudy to cloudy skies over some areas with a chance of rainfall. It also added that there could be a decrease in temperatures. Dubai will witness a high of 35oC and a low of 24oC.

RTA has also announced that free public buses will start to take fans to the venue starting 10am. It advised them to park their vehicles at Centrepoint, e&, or Jabal Ali metro stations, then board the Dubai Metro fto Jumeirah Golf Estates Station to catch the buses.

The Champions Trophy final promises an exciting match, with India set to face New Zealand in a thrilling showdown. This will be the first final since Sri Lanka's victory over Pakistan in the 2022 Asia Cup. Both teams are eager to claim the iconic 'White Jacket,' awarded to each member of the winning team along with the trophy.

Dubai Police has also issued a reminder to spectators to adhere to regulations while attending the match . Meanwhile, the Dubai Event Security Committee has confirmed that all security preparations for the final are complete.
