Katara Holy Qur'an Memorisation Competition Concludes

Doha: The 14th edition of the Katara Holy Qur'an Memorisation Competition, which was held at the grand Katara Masjid and the Golden Masjid, concluded yesterday, with the participation of 89 female and male students, who competed to master memorisation and recitation according to the rules of Tajweed.

The competition was attended by a select group of scholars, trainers, and guardians. The ceremony honoured the winners and participants, with prizes and certificates of appreciation to the top achievers in recognition of their efforts and to encourage them to continue their journey of memorising the holy Qur'an.

The trainers praised the outstanding performance of the students, emphasizing that the competition was a spiritual and educational journey that enhanced the participants' memorization and contemplation skills.

For their part, the participants' guardians expressed their happiness with their children's achievements, pointing out the significant role played by the Cultural Village Foundation (Katara) in supporting such initiatives, which contribute to instilling Islamic values, strengthening religious identity, and developing a sense of faith among the younger generations. They also praised the prominent role played by the competition's trainers and supervisors in guiding students and teaching them the principles of correct recitation.

For their part, the competition organisers confirmed that Katara will continue to organize this event annually, expressing the foundation's belief in the importance of supporting young people in their journey to memorise the holy Qur'an.

They also noted that the competition provides a stimulating environment for students, helping them develop their Qur'anic skills under the supervision of a select group of competent trainers.
