Germany's trade surplus drops down in January


(MENAFN) Germany's foreign trade surplus dropped down to EURO16 billion (USD17.3 billion) on a monthly basis in January from December's EURO20.7 billion, based on official data from Destatis published on Monday.

Germany's ship-outs dropped down by 2.5 percent to EURO129.2 billion in January month-on-month, whereas ship-ins increased by 1.2 percent to EURO113.1 billion.

Germany's ship-outs to associate EU personnel calculated EURO69.8 billion in January, whereas its ship-ins from those regions were EURO57 billion during the same time.

The nation's ship-outs to regions excluding the EU totaled EURO59.4 billion in January, whereas ship-ins from these regions reached EURO56.1 billion.

The majority of German ship-outs in January were delivered to the United States, dropping down by 4.2 percent from December, with the total of ship-outs to the United States decreasing to EURO13 billion.

Germany’s ship-ins in January were mainly received from China, falling 2.8 percent on a monthly basis, reaching EURO12.9 billion.
