Special Olympics World Winter Games Kicks Off In Italy

Turin, ITALY, Mar 8 (KUNA) -- The 12th Special Olympics World Winter Games 2025 kicks off Saturday in Turin, Italy, running from March 8-15, with Kuwait's participation among athletes from 100 countries.
The Kuwaiti delegation includes three athletes, Mariam Thiab (skating), Hajer Al-Rashidi, and Abdullah Al-Ali (snowball rush).
They completed training camps in the UAE and Egypt under coaches Bilal Hammmi and Salma Al-Obaid from Kuwait Special Olympics.
The Special Olympics World Winter Games aim to integrate individuals with intellectual disabilities into society, develop their skills, and foster a competitive atmosphere. (end)
