India's Forex Reserves Rise To 640.479 Bln USD

New Delhi: India's foreign exchange (forex) reserves increased by 4.758 billion U.S. dollars to 640.479 billion dollars during the week ending on Feb. 21, according to the official data released by the country's central bank on Friday.

Local media described it as the highest Forex reserves in the past two months. In the preceding week, the forex reserves had decreased by 2.54 billion dollars.

The data showed that the foreign currency assets increased by 4.251 billion dollars to 543.843 billion dollars, while the Gold reserves increased by 426 million dollars to 74.576 billion dollars.

The special drawing rights increased by 73 million dollars to 17.971 billion dollars.
