
13 Convicts Punished Publicly In Jawzjan
Officials said the punishments were carried out based on a ruling from the Supreme Court.
Maulvi Saifuddin Mutasim, the Director of Information and Culture, said that the punishments were imposed on the 13 individuals for crimes such as adultery, elopement, and involvement in the buying, selling, production, trafficking, and consumption of drugs and alcoholic beverages.
He emphasized that the implementation of Islamic Sharia law aims to eliminate wrongdoing in society and that enforcing Sharia law is one of the fundamental objectives of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.
