Kuwait Red Crescent Society Underlines Endeavors To Help Disaster-Affected People Worldwide


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) RIYADH, Feb 25 (KUNA) -- Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Ambassador Khaled Al-Maghames said Tuesday that his charity is committed to joining humanitarian efforts by helping and supporting disaster-affected people worldwide.
He made the remarks to KUNA after meeting Director-General of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) Pierre Krahenbuhl on the sidelines of the Fourth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum.
He boasted that the size, level and nature of humanitarian aid provided by the State of Kuwait, including all governmental and nongovernmental organizations, affirm its significant role in international humanitarian action to serve refugees and displaced people worldwide.
The KRCS chairman added that he had discussed with the ICRC chief existing mutual cooperation and humanitarian efforts amid ongoing global changes.
For his part, Krahenbuhl spoke highly of the KRCS as one of the ICRC's key humanitarian partners, along with its initiatives purposed to mitigate the anguish of people hit by natural disasters and man-made crises in many countries. (end)
