2 Clean Water Supply Projects Executed In Helmand

(MENAFN- Pajhwok Afghan News) LASHKARGAH (Pajhwok): Costing 9.5 million afghanis, two clean water supply networks have been constructed and put into service in Garamsir and Baghni districts of southern Helmand province.

Helmand governor's spokesman Maulvi Mohammad Qasim Riaz told Pajhwok that one of the projects was executed in in Dara Shah village of Baghni district at a cost of 5.1 million afghanis.

He said the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) had funded the water network having the capacity to store 40 cubic meters of water. The projects benefits 372 families.

The second network was constructed in Mullah Aqmad village of Garamsir district at a cost of 4.4 million afghanis.

Benefiting 174 families, the project has a capacity to store 20 cubic meters of water.

UNICEF has previously built clean drinking water networks in various provinces of Afghanistan currently being used by thousands of families.
