In celebration of Emirati heritage and community spirit, the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children (DFWAC) hosted Haq Al Laila event, marking the mid-Sha’ban night with traditional performances, cultural displays, and a vibrant showcase of local crafts.
Held at the foundation’s premises, the gathering featured folk sessions inspired by Emirati customs, where attendees enjoyed traditional dishes and explored heritage products offered by local traders.
Items such as perfumes, headscarves and traditional women's attire were on display, adding an authentic touch to the festivities. Children received Haq Al Laila gifts, reinforcing the event’s role in preserving one of the UAE’s deeply rooted traditions that foster solidarity and social cohesion.
Her Excellency Sheikha Saeed Al Mansouri, Acting Director General of the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, emphasized that commemorating Haq Al Laila plays a key role in strengthening Emirati identity and fostering a sense of belonging.
“This celebration is more than a tradition—it is a community message that reinforces social bonds and spreads values of joy and generosity,” she said. Al Mansouri highlighted that the event aligns perfectly with the goals of the Year of Community 2025, an initiative aimed at building a more cohesive and culturally rich society.
“At the Dubai Foundation for Women and Children, we are committed to connecting new generations with their heritage, instilling in them values of authenticity and national pride,” Al Mansouri added. “Haq Al Laila embodies the spirit of the Emirati community, promoting generosity and shared traditions, which we strive to encourage through our awareness and cultural programs.”
She extended her gratitude to participants and supporters of the event, reaffirming the foundation’s commitment to organizing initiatives that merge cultural celebration with social engagement. “Through such interactive events, we celebrate the UAE’s cultural legacy while promoting community cohesion and sustainability,” she said.
