CDAC-Noida Partners With LEGO Group To Advance India's Electronic Toy Industry


(MENAFN- KNN India) New Delhi, Feb 7 (KNN) The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (CDAC-Noida), a research organisation under the Ministry of Electronics and Information technology (MeitY), has entered into a strategic partnership with the LEGO Group's Creative Play Lab to strengthen India's indigenous electronic toy manufacturing capabilities.

The collaboration was formalised through a Letter of Intent signing ceremony held at MeitY headquarters on February 6, 2025.

The partnership falls under MeitY's project focused on developing electronics and IT-based control and automation solutions for the toy industry.

This research and development initiative specifically aims to create opportunities for young engineers fr0m Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, and North Eastern Region backgrounds, addressing both technological advancement and inclusive participation in India's growing toy sector.

Under the program, selected engineering graduates will undergo a comprehensive year-long training, split between six months at CDAC-Noida's toy laboratories and six months in industry settings.

The hands-on experience will focus on designing and developing electronic toy prototypes that meet current market demands.

LEGO India will provide specialised mentorship to select students fr0m each batch, with the additional opportunity for participants to visit LEGO's headquarters in Billund, Denmark.

The Creative Play Lab division of LEGO will contribute to the program's third batch through webinar sessions, sharing insights into their experimental approach to toy development, industry standards, and providing feedback on student prototypes.

This knowledge transfer represents a significant step toward aligning Indian toy manufacturing with global standards.

The signing ceremony was attended by senior government officials including Bhuvnesh Kumar and Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretaries at MeitY, along with key LEGO executives including Colette Burke, Global Chief Commercial Officer fr0m Denmark, and Claus Kristensen, Senior Vice President of the APAC Market Group fr0m Singapore.

The event underscores the government's commitment to fostering innovation in India's electronic toy manufacturing sector while promoting inclusive technological development.
