Secretary General of Executive Committee of PLO strongly rejects idea of displacing Palestinians

(MENAFN) Hussein al-Sheikh, Secretary General of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), strongly rejected the idea of displacing Palestinians from their homeland, reiterating that the two-state solution, based on international Legitimacy and law, is the key to peace, security, and stability.

In a statement, al-Sheikh affirmed that the Palestinian leadership maintains its steadfast position that the two-state solution remains the best route for ensuring a peaceful and stable future. He also firmly opposed any calls to remove the Palestinian people from their land, emphasizing their deep connection to their homeland. "We were born here, we lived here, and we will remain here," he declared, expressing gratitude for the Arab nations' unwavering commitment to Palestinian rights.

Since January 25, U.S. President Donald Trump has been advocating a controversial plan to relocate Palestinians from Gaza to neighboring countries like Egypt and Jordan. Both countries have rejected this proposal, as have many Arab nations and international organizations. Trump's recent comments during a joint press conference with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have further intensified opposition to this plan, with the U.S. leader suggesting that Washington could take control of Gaza through the displacement of its people.
