Cairo Underlines Significant U.S. Role In Gaza Ceasefire

CAIRO, Feb 3 (KUNA) -- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty stressed Monday the significant U.S. role to ensure the implementation of the Gaza ceasefire and find a final settlement to the Palestinian-Israeli occupation conflict as per international legitimacy resolutions.
The Egyptian minister made the remarks during a call with U.S. Middle East envoy Steve Witkoff late Sunday, Spokesman for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Tamim Khallaf said in a press statement.
The contact came in the context of continued coordination and consultation between Egypt and the new U.S. Administration and the recent contact between President Abdelfattah Al-Sisi and U.S. President Donald Trump, he said.
During the phone conversation, both sides discussed the latest developments regarding the implementation of the three-phase Gaza ceasefire, he added. (end)
