Egyptian, Sudanese Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Relations, Sudan Situation
(MENAFN- Daily News Egypt) Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty met with Sudanese Foreign Minister Ali Al-Sadiq Ali on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations and the latest developments in Sudan.
Abdelatty praised the unique historical ties and close fraternal bonds between the two countries, emphasizing Egypt's solidarity with the Sudanese people during this challenging period, according to Foreign Ministry spokesman Tamim Khallaf.
He reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to restoring stability and peace in Sudan, fully supporting the country and its national institutions. Abdelatty stressed Egypt's position respecting Sudan's sovereignty, unity, and territorial integrity, and highlighted the importance of enhancing humanitarian efforts there.
The ministers discussed efforts to ensure Sudan's resumption of its activities within the African Union, as well as Egypt's active involvement in various regional and international initiatives aimed at supporting Sudan.
The meeting also addressed water security, with both sides acknowledging the need for continued cooperation and coordination to protect the shared interests of the two countries, given their intertwined destinies as Nile River downstream nations.
