120 Rhino Horns, Ivory Seized From Traveler At Hamad International Airport

Doha, Qatar: Rhinoceros horns and ivory were confiscated from a traveler in a foiled smuggling attempt at Hamad International Airport.

A total of 120 pieces of rhino horns and ivory weighing 45.29 kilograms were seized. The smuggling attempt was foiled by the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in cooperation with the relevant authorities.

In a statement, the Ministry said: "The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, in cooperation with the relevant authorities, confiscated 120 pieces of rhino horns and ivory weighing 45.26 kilograms, after a traveler attempted to smuggle them through Hamad International Airport without permits."

"The Ministry called on everyone to comply with the law on trading in endangered wildlife species, emphasizing the necessity of carrying permits when bringing in any protected species under the CITES agreement," it added.
