The Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Zakir Hasanov, hosted a delegation led by the Commander of the Turkish Air Force, army General Ziya Cemal Kadıoğlu, during their visit to Azerbaijan, Azernews reports.

Upon their arrival, the Turkish delegation paid respects by visiting the graves of National Leader Heydar Aliyev and renowned ophthalmologist-scientist, Academician Zarifa Aliyeva, at the Alley of Honor, as well as the Alley of Martyrs and the Turkish Martyrdom, where they laid wreaths and flowers.

At the meeting held at the Ministry of Defense, Colonel General Hasanov expressed his pleasure in hosting the Turkish delegation and discussed the operational situation along the Azerbaijani-Armenian conditional border, highlighting the negative impact of Armenia's rearmament on regional peace and stability. He emphasized the importance of the strategic Azerbaijan-Türkiye alliance, stressing the value of enhancing military cooperation and expressed pride in the growth of Türkiye's military industry.

General Kadıoğlu expressed gratitude for the hospitality and highlighted the high level of military relations between the two countries, aimed at deepening mutual exchanges and experiences. The meeting also covered the analysis of global conflicts and modern combat methods, as well as military-technical cooperation, regional security, and other related matters.

Discussions also touched on the positive outcomes of the 15-year-long Azerbaijan-Türkiye High-Level Military Dialogue. Further meetings were held with First Deputy Minister of Defense Colonel General Karim Valiyev and Advisor to the Minister of Defense Colonel General Bakhtiyar Ersay, focusing on expanding military cooperation and the importance of joint exercises.

The Turkish delegation also visited the Air Force, where Deputy Minister of Defense and Commander of the Air Force, Lieutenant General Namig Islamzadeh, welcomed the guests. The discussions included reforms within the Azerbaijani Army, ongoing military education cooperation, and the development of joint military relations. The delegation was also briefed on the work conducted at the Central Command Post of the Air Force.
