Chiriquí Chosen Among 10 Best Tourist Destinations In The World For 2025

The Best in travel Region Awards from popular travel guide publication Lonely Planet highlighted the province of Chiriquí as one of the 10“Best Regions in the World” to visit in 2025.
Lonely Planet editors, contributors and experts selected Chiriquí through a vote, highlighting the unique experiences it offers and its strong commitment to sustainability.
From the museums and historic centers of the David district, to the ecological adventures in Boquete and Tierras Altas (with its famous coffee circuit and hiking through incomparable landscapes such as the Barú Volcano) to the paradisiacal islands of the Gulf of Chiriquí, this province is a destination that offers the best of Panama.

Internationally known for the diversity of its landscapes, its exuberant biodiversity, its excellent gastronomy and its award-winning coffee production, the region, also known as the Valley of the Moon, offers a unique combination of relaxation and adventure that makes it unmistakable.
For her part, Jennifer Janson, Executive Director of Marketing for PROMTUR Panama, highlighted:“The recognition by Lonely Planet redefines the future of tourism in our country and establishes new standards of progress for the region, positioning it as a world-class tourist destination.”
Janson added that this award will motivate and encourage international travellers to discover the authentic experiences that the province has to offer. “This recognition includes extensive promotion on the Best in Travel 2025 website and in the print edition of Lonely Planet's best-selling book, available in five languages,” he added.
This recognition adds to other important achievements for Panama, which has recently been highlighted in various renowned publications such as National Geographic and Travel + Leisure, which included the country in their lists of the best adventure destinations for 2024 and the best places to visit 2024, respectively.
This award represents an important milestone for the province of Chiriquí and is a reflection of the continuous effort to preserve the best of its history, culture and natural environment, highlighting its commitment to the best conservation and sustainability practices.
