Lavrov: Concord With Iran, Turkey On Halting Fighting In Syria


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) DOHA, Dec 7 (KUNA) -- Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Saturday that his country, Turkey and Iran have "agreed on the necessity" to cease combat action immediately in Syria.
The three countries have agreed to call for dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition and implement the UN resolution 2254 in full, said Lavrov as he spke during a discussion panel held as part of the Doha Forum.
Lavrov indicated that during his meeting with his Iranian and Turkish counterparts here earlier today, they "robustly re-affirmed the unity and Sovereignty of the Syrian territories," adding that Moscow along with the stakeholders were seeking to de-escalate conditions in Syria. (end)
