(MENAFN- Trend News Agency) BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 18. The cream of the crop from the 15th European Championship on TeamGym, making its debut in Baku, has been decided in the showdown among mixed junior teams, Trend reports.

In the grand scheme of things, the competition saw five teams throw their hats in the ring, but it was the national team of Iceland that really hit the nail on the head, racking up a whopping 51,600 points to snag the top spot.

The team from Sweden snagged the silver medal with a score of 51.400 points, while the UK team took home the bronze with 50.800 points under their belt.

To note, the tournament, featuring 498 athletes hailing from 14 countries, with 268 adults and 230 juniors in the mix, is set to wrap up on October 19.
