BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 17. The number of
applications for cargo transportation from Kazakhstan to other
countries on the platform of the international exchange ATI
increased by more than 3.5 times in the third quarter of 2024, the
press service of the exchange told Trend.
“The number of applications for cargo transportation from
Kazakhstan to other countries on the platform ATI increased by
262 percent (more than 3.5 times) in the third quarter of 2024.
Such dynamics were provided by two main export directions - Russia
and Belarus. Thus, the number of applications for transportation to
Russia increased by 263 percent over the year and by 218 percent
compared to the second quarter. Demand for cargo delivery to
Belarus increased by 641 percent for the year and by 195 percent
compared to the second quarter,” the information says.
According to the director of the Kazakhstan representative
office of ATI Renata Zobova, there are two main reasons for such
growth.
“Firstly, the decline in freight transportation by rail between
Kazakhstan and Russia was caused by a shortage of capacity on the
railroads of both countries. However, in Kazakhstan, it is
explained, among other things, by the increased volumes of rail
transportation along the Trans-Caspian international transportation
route connecting China and the European Union. In the first half of
the year, transit cargo traffic on the Eurasian rail route through
Kazakhstan, Russia, and Belarus increased by 66% year-on-year. This
forces Kazakhstani suppliers to more actively use road
transportation to deliver cargo to Russia and Belarus. Secondly,
all three countries are actively developing digital logistics
services: the increase in the number of applications is also due to
the growing number of users of the“ATI Exchange” in the CIS
countries,” she said.
To note, the remaining export destinations show stable demand
throughout the whole of 2024.
