He made the remark during a panel discussion titled "Revolution in our understanding of GHG emissions: role of empirical data, AI, and advanced analytics" within the framework of the final day of the international conference at the Climate Action Week in Baku.
“The primary contributors to climate change are low temperatures and greenhouse gas emissions, both of which profoundly affect the climate. Gases like carbon dioxide and methane accumulate in the atmosphere, trapping solar heat and resulting in several adverse effects. The alterations in sea level observed in the Caspian region are attributable to the impact of greenhouse gases. Global Institutes of Analysis (GIAs) must be acutely aware of these changes, continuously monitor them, and provide future forecasts to enhance understanding and anticipation of events. Such institutes can discern trends by analyzing past satellite data and uncover patterns that aid in forecasting climate change. Furthermore, space agencies, like Azercosmos, are actively involved in initiatives pertaining to climate change. We are observing snow-covered regions, glaciers, the Caspian Sea, riverbanks, and other natural features to monitor changes more precisely and formulate ways to mitigate environmental degradation,” he noted.
