(MENAFN- Trend News Agency)
BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 9. Jabrayil
district is one of the regions of Azerbaijan liberated from
occupation that has a great potential for green energy, and this
potential consists of various types of green energy sources,
Trend reports.
Jabrayil district is known for a large number of sunny days.
This creates favorable conditions for the installation of solar
panels. Solar energy projects have great potential in terms of
energy supply and green energy production in this region.
The project of SOCAR, Azerbaijan investment Company (AIC), and
bp on the construction of a 240 MW solar power plant (SPP) in
Jabrayil district will contribute to the development of these areas
as a green energy zone. The project will be implemented by the end
of 2025.
Furthermore, it is planned that the Sangachal terminal will be
supplied with electricity generated by this plant, which will
reduce CO2 emissions in the amount of 260,000-330,000 tons per
year. It is projected that the plant will produce 500 million kWh
of electricity per year. Investment in the project is estimated at
$200 million.
The Shafag Solar Power Plant (Sunrise) is an important project
in Azerbaijan's solar energy sector. It is a strategic step aimed
at increasing the country's green energy potential and
strengthening its energy independence.“Shafag” will become one of
the largest solar power plants in Azerbaijan. Such projects play an
important role in the country's energy production.
Solar energy is an environmentally friendly source of energy.
The functioning of this station will help reduce carbon emissions
and contribute to maintaining the ecological balance.
The construction of the Shafag station will lead to job
generation in the region and stimulate economic development. At the
same time, it will help diversify the country's energy supply and
ensure long-term energy security. The construction of this plant
demonstrates Azerbaijan's progress in the green energy sector and
the achievement of sustainable development goals.
The Shafag project will meet a certain part of the country's
energy needs and will also contribute to environmental
protection.
