Turkmenistan, Finland Discuss Business Council Creation To Boost Trade Relations
This initiative was discussed during a roundtable in Helsinki, where Turkmenistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Myahri Byashimova led the delegation alongside key Finnish companies, including Wärtsilä, Watermaster, and the Finnish Water Forum platform.
Held at EastCham Finland, the meeting also highlighted potential collaboration in sectors such as energy, transportation, agriculture, water management, and innovative technologies. The Turkmen delegation extended an invitation to Finnish companies to participate in exhibitions and fairs across Turkmenistan, with the goal of fostering deeper economic partnerships.
Jaana Rekolainen, CEO of EastCham Finland, chaired the discussions, where the sides expressed interest in expanding cooperation. Finnish companies and government representatives reaffirmed their commitment to exploring opportunities in Turkmenistan, a country known for its strategic position in Central Asia and its ongoing focus on economic diversification.
The creation of a Turkmen-Finnish Business Council, alongside increased trade missions, is seen as a key step toward enhancing bilateral trade and investment opportunities.
