BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 13. I am very happy to
return home with a medal, Azerbaijani Greco-Roman wrestler Hasrat
Jafarov (67 kg), who won a bronze medal at the Paris 2024 Summer
Olympic Games, told reporters at the welcome ceremony at the Heydar
Aliyev International Airport, Trend reports via Idman .
He said that although he went to the French capital for a gold
medal, his fate was the third place: "I believe that we will be
champions at the next Olympics. This time it was like that. But I
am glad that I was not left without a medal. When we started the
race, we didn't have a good opening. I was disappointed that my
teammates were left without a medal. This competition is considered
the pinnacle of the sport. Everyone comes to the Games to win
results."
He also gave his advice to athletes who have just started
sports: "I want to tell everyone to train a lot. Let them work on
themselves. Let them fight until they reach their goals."
Azerbaijan national team in Greco-Roman wrestling finished Paris
