China inaugurates new direct passenger air route with Italy's Milan


(MENAFN) On Monday, a new direct passenger air route was inaugurated, connecting Chengdu, the capital of Sichuan Province in southwest China, with Milan, Italy. The inaugural flight, operated by Air China's southwest branch, took off from Chengdu Tianfu International Airport at 1:50 a.m. and is scheduled to land in Milan at 7:30 a.m. local time. This new route marks a significant expansion in direct international travel between the two cities.

The service will be available three times a week, operating every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. The return flight from Milan to Chengdu is scheduled to depart at 12:45 p.m. local time, with a flight duration of approximately 12 hours. This new route offers travelers a convenient and direct connection between these two major cities, enhancing accessibility and fostering greater international connectivity.

Chengdu has developed a comprehensive network of intercontinental passenger routes that span Europe, North America, Oceania, and Africa. This network also includes nearly all major destinations across Asia, reflecting Chengdu’s growing role as a pivotal hub in global air travel. The expansion of direct routes to key international cities underscores Chengdu’s increasing prominence in the global aviation sector.
