Oil Bill Decreases By 16% In Jan-May 2024

Amman, July 25 (Petra) – Jordan's oil bill declined to JD 1.143 billion in the first five months of 2024, compared to JD 1.361 billion for the same period last year.
The Department of Statistics' monthly foreign trade report highlighted a 16 percent decrease in the Kingdom's imports of
crude oil, its derivatives, and mineral oils during the same period.
The reduction in the oil bill amounted to approximately JD 218 million compared to the previous year.
Mineral fuels constituted the largest portion of Jordan's
petroleum imports with JD 356 million, followed by crude oil at JD 333 million, petroleum spirits (gasoline) at JD 210 million, diesel at JD 220 million, lubricating oils at JD 15 million, and kerosene at JD 8 million.
