Qatar, Somalia Discuss Bilateral Relations

Doha: Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs H E Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, met yesterday, with State Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the federal Republic of Somalia H E Ali Mohamed Omar, who is on a visit to the country.

The meeting dealt with discussing bilateral cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to support development projects in Somalia, in addition to the outcomes of the Somali Diaspora conference held in Doha on harnessing the capabilities of Somalis in diaspora for the prosperity and revival of Somalia.

The Minister of State for International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also met via videoconferencing technology with Director-General of European Civil Protection and Humanitarian Aid Operations.

The meeting dealt with discussing relations between the State of Qatar and the European Union and ways to support and strengthen them, developments in the Russian-Ukrainian crisis were also discussed, in addition to the development and humanitarian cooperation files in the Gaza Strip, Sudan and Afghanistan, as well as several regional and international issues of joint interest. The meeting was attended by H E Dr. Cristian Tudor, European Union Ambassador to the state.
