Egypt's Industry Minister Aims To Overcome Sector's Challenges
During the meeting, Al-Wazir stressed the importance of ongoing coordination and cooperation to address challenges in the industrial sector and achieve significant progress.
Al-Wazir outlined a comprehensive plan based on seven pillars to advance the industrial sector.
He emphasized the urgency of overcoming obstacles and working closely with relevant entities. The ministry has held extensive meetings with industrial investors, the Federation of Industries, and industrial chamber heads to identify and resolve issues efficiently.
The Industrial Development Authority (IDA) has also played a crucial role. Al-Wazir directed the IDA to intensify efforts, including working on Saturdays, to support investors and streamline industrial procedures. Rapid issuance of industrial licenses during the minister's recent visit to the IDA positively impacted industrial investors, enhancing the authority's reputation.
The minister discussed proposals, obstacles, and sector-related issues with the Senate's Industry Committee. Key areas include accelerating procedures at the IDA, activating the Local Product Preference Law across ministries, boosting exports, promoting modern technology industries, and increasing investments in Upper Egypt.
Al-Wazir urged the committee to provide a list of identified obstacles and proposed solutions. The ministry is committed to supporting factories of all sizes, addressing technical and administrative challenges promptly.
